Advanced Fair Housing Act OR The Seven Deadly Sins of the FHA

This advanced building code course addresses the specific requirements of the Fair Housing Act. The course will instruct attendants in the specific requirements of the Act – accessible building entrance on an accessible route, accessible and usable public spaces, usable doors, accessible route into and through the covered unit, light switches, electrical outlets, thermostats and other environmental controls, reinforced walls for grab bars and usable kitchens and bathroom. When the course has been completed attendant will have a better understanding of the applicable accessibility requirements of the Act.

Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction - Chapter 11 Advanced

COURSE DESCRIPTION:   

This Advanced Building Code course addresses the specific requirements of the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction – Chapter 11. The course will instruct attendants in the specific requirements for: the accessible route, accessible parking requirements, the issue of Florida’s specific requirements regarding vertical accessibility, providing accessible toilet rooms, bathrooms and toilet stalls.  There will be an update as to where the Federal Access Board and the Department of Justice is with their requirements for accessibility. When the course has been completed attendant will have a better understanding of the applicable accessibility requirements.

This Advanced Building Code course addresses the specific requirements of the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction – Chapter 11. The course will instruct attendants in the common errors that have and are occurring in construction relating to accessibility issues.  There will be an update as to where the Federal Access Board and the Department of Justice is with their requirements for accessibility. When the course has been completed attendant will have a better understanding of the applicable accessibility requirements and the areas to be watchful of.
